THE INDEPENDENT says, "The initial set up is not very plausible; it is repetitive; and some of the lines bristle with thematic obviousness, ... But the passion of the writing is enormously impressive." ALEKS SIERZ for THE STAGE says, "Although it has a messy ending, this is a wonderfully humane play which mixes the issues of seventies state of the nation plays with the intensity of more recent drama in a highly charged evening."
