What the critics had to say.....
NICK CURTIS for THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Howard Davies's production is beautifully judged and superbly acted." MICHAEL BILLINGTON for THE GUARDIAN says, "This may not, in the last analysis, be major Williams; but, as this high-class revival shows, it echoes all the themes that reverberate through his more celebrated work." BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says, "It’s not a dramatic soufflé or laugh riot...seems overlong and repetitive." ALASTAIR MACAULAY for THE FINANCIAL TIMES says, "London has not seen Period of Adjustment since 1962. These actors make it all the more worth catching now." PAUL TAYLOR for THE INDEPENDENT says, "Affectionate, beautifully judged revival."
